Petite Nature is the micro-domaine of Pauline Maziou, known affectionately as "la fée Paulette," nestled in the village of Quintenas in northern Ardèche. Founded in 2019 after Pauline left a media career in the city to return to her roots, the estate produces vibrant, unadorned natural wines from a patchwork of tiny parcels set between hills and chestnut groves. Working from a microscopic cellar beneath her home, Pauline crafts wines with nothing added at any stage — no sulfites, no fining, no filtration — allowing the decomposed granite and sandy soils of northern Ardèche to speak with clarity and charm. Production began at around 2,000 bottles and grows gradually each year, keeping these cuvées genuinely confidential.

Approach

Philosophy

Pauline's guiding principle is to grow the healthiest grapes possible so she can interfere as little as possible during vinification. The vineyard follows organic agriculture with complementary biodynamic treatments — herbal infusions and teas, respect for the lunar calendar in both vineyard and cellar work. In the cellar, the approach is radically non-interventionist: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no sulfites added at any stage, no fining, no filtration. The result is living, vibrant wines that express their terroir without artifice.
